Coaching is a collaborative process of increasing capabilities for individuals. Through ongoing conversations coaches help individuals to identify areas of specific concern or development and work through the process of exploration, goal setting, progress and feedback.
An effective coach gives you something that your manager or peers can't; a view of your development that is free from the biases and histories that can build up within organizations.
Effective leadership and engaged employees are intrinsically linked. While the numbers vary, some research suggests that managers and leaders account for as much as 70% of the engagement (or lack thereof) of their team members. More than any other variable effective leadership is the conduit through which all other efforts to increase engagement flows.
Because of this, leaders who can create effective structures, experiences, and opportunities for their employees are able to deliver reliable pathways to engagement.
